Instagram Story Updates: You are now able to add a location, temperature, or time to your story, as well as custom Instagram stickers and Emojis, accessed in the new sticker section in the top right corner of the story screen. In the newest update, the size of text and thickness of marker/draw tool are all adjustable via the first icon listed before the text color option. There is also a new hands-free mode, which means that you will no longer need to hold the record button while recording a video. Instagram has also added seasonal markers, like a winter-themed candy cane marker which you can use to edit text.

Save It For Later: Instagram now has a feature which allows you to save posts for later time. To do this, go to the post that you want to save and click the flag icon located at the bottom right corner underneath the picture. Then you can go to your profile and view any photos or videos that you have saved. These are not public--the saves will not show up on your public profile or notify people when you have saved their photo.
Hashtags: Make sure to do your research first. Regardless of what industry you are a part of, Google the top hashtags to find out what will get your photos and profile the most engagement possible. Instagram will allow you to post up to 30 hashtags on a single post so when you can, use every available opportunity. The top 10 hashtags on Instagram are: love, instagood, photooftheday, tbt, beautiful, cute, happy, fashion, me, follow.

Get More Engagement: To increase engagement download Boomerang, Layout, and Hyperlapse for Instagram. These apps are designed by Instagram and easily sync to your account, giving you access to extra tools that increase your page's traffic and which will keep your followers coming back.

908 Enterprises - Social Media Tips [Edition #2: Snapchat Update]

In their latest update, Snapchat seems to have followed Instagram's example by releasing updated features one-by-one rather than all at once.
Group Chat: Snapchat now allows you to send snaps and text chats with groups that include up to sixteen friends and even name these groups. Just like a snap on your story, the snaps sent to your groups will be automatically deleted after 24 hours. One feature that's different, though, is that everyone in the group can see the snaps that you've sent--even if you are not already friends on Snapchat.

Scissors Tool: Another new feature allows Snapchat users to create their own custom stickers. By touching the scissor icon and outlining the part of an image that you would like to copy and paste, you can create a copied image that is saved to your stickers and can be added to any snaps in the future. To delete the stickers that are just too embarrassing, click the sticker icon at the top of the screen, click the scissor on the bottom right, press, hold, and drag the sticker to the trash.

Paint Filters: Any of your snaps can become instant masterpieces with Snapchat's new painting-inspired filters, which are applied from your Memories. When editing a snap from this folder, tap the paintbrush tool to try them out.

Shazam: Press and hold on the camera screen to identify a song with Shazam. Songs that you've Shazamed will appear in settings at the bottom of the My Account section.

Stories: Now you can change all aspects of the text in your Story. You can alter the color as well as underline, italicize, or bold multiple words or letters. To customize your message, double-tap to select the section you wish to edit.

How can I make my Instagram look professional? If you do not already have the Notes app, you will need to download it. Type exactly what you want in Notes, and then copy and paste it into the bio. By doing this you will be able to incorporate line breaks, which cannot be done when just typing out your bio on Instagram. There is a 150 character limit though, so plan it out. Be sure to use emojis because you want your bio to look attractive and engage people when they come to your page. Do not forget about the clickable link in Instagram bio. This is interchangeable and can be edited whenever you would like.

How can you go live on Instagram? There are now 4 options you can use on Instagram. They include Live, Normal, Boomerang, and Hands-free. To go live, you simply open the Instagram app and click the icon “+ Your Story,” as if you are going to post a story. This will bring you to a new screen in which you have the ability to swipe left to go “Live” and start your recording. Instagram will notify your friend and followers that you have gone live and it is up to you to create some engaging content to keep your followers watching.

Can you change the color of more than one word in an Instagram story? Yes, you can. Simply start by typing out your text fully. Then, double tap and select the word or letters that you want to change the color of. Once your selection is highlighted, just click the color that you would like. You can do this for multiple words or letters.

What is the easiest way to get followers? There are many different ways to do this. One of the quickest ways is to do a “S4S,” which is a share for share or shout out for shout out. You post a picture on your account and they post your picture on their account. If you don't want to upload an actual post to your profile you can just do an Instagram story. If you did not know, you can swipe up to upload a photo from your camera roll. In your text, type @ and start typing the profile that you want to tag (refer to picture above). Their account icon will appear; click the profile you want to tag. When people view your story, they will be able to click on the tag and will be redirected to that person’s page.
